A festive holiday filled with lots of color, food, entertainment, and fun fun, the 2009 Chinese New Year celebrates the Year of the GOLDEN OX, which according to the Chinese zodiac, symbolizes prosperity, self-assurance, inspiration, and leadership.

The hope that new one will be better than the last, for the best with the coming of the new year =)

the curious case of benjamin button
Aloha, I’m having wonderful holiday FINALLY. Yes finally =)
Another wonderful bunch of DVD collections from Chinese kopitiam in Bangsar, I guess some of you know about him right? the small skinny guy with one huge box full of DVDs? haha
Anyways, I watched “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button“, I think it is beautiful. Look at the work they did on the baby’s skin! How to say it wasn’t baby, it was baby wanna be grandpa they really did well on each effects on movie.

the movie is based on an F. Scott Fitzgerald story about a man who ages backwards, he is born old and gets younger. The idea suggested to Fitzgerald was that it would be great to be young but to have all the knowledge and experience of someone at the end of their life.
The story is so uplifting but also very sad. Benjamin Button falls in love with a young girl while he is “Age of Grandfather”, and after many adventures comes back to find the same girl when they are around the same age, I mean they are middle age somewhere.

It becomes so emotional as the reality eventually hits them that they will not be able to grow old together, and the girl will essentially end up as his kind of mother. The story also really makes you think about the similarities between young children and elderly people. As Benjamin reaches the end of his life, as he becomes a baby, a doctor comments that he is showing signs of dementia. You then see the child Benjamin behaving in a typically childlike way, demanding to do irrational things and becoming unable to relate to adults properly.
I’ve no idea when this movie is out in Malaysia, you all know right? Malaysia is just screening JUNO finally. Oh god we all seen that in “MALAYSIAN ORIGINAL” DVD almost TWO years ago??! You should all go and buy it!!
Just kidding =p
