8 days of glorious FUN FUN

Okay, I’m back in Malaysia =) Time passes so quickly when we are enjoying…

What an amazing experience Bangkok has been!! Eight days in Bangkok seems like too too short trip. I explore the city by myself, and well, Bangkok is very easy city to get around =) I have spent so much time reading about my friend, Bangkok guide book so everything was easy when I get there.

I took a trip down to the Chao Praya river. This has always been a favorite for me. There’s just something about the river that I love, and one day many many years later from now when I became a grandmother I hope that my ashes will be scattered into river or may be sea.

Boat rides are 16 baht. Take the tourist or public boat, it’s the same company. Also, if you just want to cross the river, it’s just only cost you 3 baht. If you don’t know all about this just you have to pay 100 Baht for day pass and gives you lovely ticket and guidebook.

Anyways the river is where Ayutthaya and Bangkok and many other cities had its roots and civilization begun right there, right at that spot, many centuries ago. I just couldn’t stop imagining how centuries ago kings and queens and Thai people must’ve lived their life on that river, traveling on it, surviving on it.

Other than boat ride, luckily there’s this sky train called BTS which makes traveling around Bangkok very easy. And I also walked a lot but pretty though tho, traffic in Bangkok is horrible =p

And more I visited the Jim Thompson house, The Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, Chinatown, shopping at Chatuchak market with Hann Yeeh and some shopping centers. However I failed to shop to my heart’s content due to lack of time!!

Other than shopping, what’s a trip to Bangkok without the famous massages? There are a lot of cheap massages in Bangkok, Hann Yeeh and I treated ourselves with a Thai massage each for only 200 Baht (RM20) per person. Can’t get that kind of price here in KL. The lady attending me was very professional I felt a bit painful during the massage, but after that I felt my tiredness seeped away.

From this trip, I realize how inadequate and small I felt and there are greatness in the world that I can only see by traveling outside Japan or Malaysia and that no words can justify and how much more you actually learn about yourself and your country by looking at another country.

Cheers, Bangkok, I’m really happy to be there…

The friendly Thai people, hotel room, staffs, strangers, everything’s been great!! =) And thanks Hann Yeeh again =)
Bangkok is such an amazing city!! This is obviously the best trip of the year so far =)

first day Hann Yeeh took me to shopping at Chatuchak (aka the J&J), the weekend market extraordinaire where tourists and locals alike search for treasures and bargains among the thousands and thousands of stalls selling everything under the sun… Clothing, accessories books, collectibles, antiques, furniture, home decor, handicraft, plants and even pets. It’s overwhelming to say the least haha… Here’s sad sad thing I was too excited and didn’t take any photos =( will be back soon again there

Anyways sightseeing was great this few days, its more the food, people, smells and just basic experiences that I seek! I tried out the local hawker food like Thai sausages where u eat with raw cabbage and Hann Yeeh and I tried raw cilli, rice with pork but CILLI!! Thai CILLI is powerful more than ever!! and flesh fruits, and some weird food which I do not know the name, since I can’t understand the Thai language. And Thai fruits are really refreshing and taste so nice. I saw some fried grasshoppers and some weird fried insects but I didn’t dare to try it. will upload the photos later on =)

time to go out now~ yay!
