eye on malaysia
When I was age of seven or eight during the summer holiday, my grandpa took me to Ferris wheel ride somewhere near Tokyo bay.
It was 100++ meters tall, and the largest in the world 15 years ago. I think the Ferris wheel in London (London Eye or something…) is the biggest now if I’m not mistaken =)
Since then, I’m a huge huge fun of Ferris wheel =)
And now I got a chance to ride again Ferris wheel here in Malaysia yay! Yeah I was always wishing to take a ride on it =) yay yay yay yay~
Anyway, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi launched the Ferris wheel, as well as the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 campaign. (Forgot to tell you all this in previous post)
The center of attraction is a 60 meters tall Ferris wheel the Eye On Malaysia!!
The other day I saw paper that says this is the first kind of structure in South-East Asia. How true is it, I am not so sure though.
This giant Ferris wheel allows visitors to experience a 360 degrees panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur during a 12 minutes ride that goes 60 meters high. It offers a magnificent view of Kuala Lumpur and surroundings including KL Tower, Istana Budaya and Petronas Twin Towers. Oh yeah and Genting as well =)
Tickets are available at the sales counter in the Titiwangsa Lake Gardens.
It costs RM15 for adults and for children not sure =p the operating hours for the Ferris wheel are from 10am to 10pm daily.
Yeah I’m still exciting here at home happy like crazy and jumping like monkey =)
I would never forget it. la la la la la la~
Xīn Nián Kuài Le! Memories of Chinese New Year
On the second day of Chinese New Year, I headed over to Hann Yeeh’s home town which is located in lovely Chinese kampung Triang, Pahang. Yes, Center of Malaysia =)
This year’s Chinese New Year shall be the happiest I’ve ever celebrated!! Huge thanks to Hann Yeeh, his family and friends =)
Makan makan, visit visit, “good luck money” ang pao ang pao, gamble gamble, cards cards, minum minum, and yee sang!!
I found out that I love Chinese New Year. It is the time of the year when everyone of the family and friends gather and hang out =)
I miss the aroma of food. I miss the laughter of people I enjoyed very much.
I know everyone loves Chinese New Year. Is the happiest time of the year because it is the time of the year we receive money for no reason. This is another way of wishing someone good fortune, and it’s quite nice to see people handing out gifts the whole day through =)
I went to Hann Yeeh’s house and it was the happiest moment of that day so far. I sat down, had nice meals until we had to get going. I was very happy to be back in Triang, and while walking to the street I realized the smell of Triang, I didn’t tell this to anyone before but I can smell different town different smell haha… I really like it there.
Oh yeah, I had crispy pork meat with yam. It’s really special and home-made sea cucumber and pork, vegetable chicken soup, steam fish and lots of vage dishes but I forgot to snap a photos!! =(
All dishes were superb and incredible. I can never get this sort of dishes at my home sweet home in Japan or even in Malaysia. It’s truly Chinese original and distinctive overall. You can never get that outside.
Oh yes don’t forget, the fun part! I had second Yee Sang of my life!!
“Lou-ing” the Yee Sang (direct transation: raw fish), meaning to toss it in the air! The higher you toss it, the better and will bring prosperity and good luck for the whole year!
Chinese believe that tossing yee sang everyone will gather around the table and attack yee sang with their chopsticks. Have you ‘lou’ your yee sang yet? This is a practice that is only common in Malaysia and Singapore it’s pretty special (yeah I blog same sentence last year) =)
Most of all I miss my family and relatives in Japan.
No matter where I am in the vast overseas, they will always be as close as ever in my heart.
Best wishes to ALL people around the world =)
Back to daily life now, and I’m growing a lot fatter at the tummy area.
REALLY!!
true friendship goes a long way
My life is much improved since my last visit in Triang.
Chinese New Year this year was sweet =)
I made new precious memories with Hann Yeeh’s old friends, siblings, and new friends and of course with Hann Yeeh. I had a wonderful time and I was very excited.
How would you describe Friends?
Not knowing can be easier than knowing?
May be friends to laugh with, cry with, take pictures with, travel with, play cards with, eat with, drink with, shop with and may be swim with?
I went to Hann Yeeh’s friends gathering and they were looks soo happy together and soo much fun fun that gathering was the 10th anniversary for them. 10 years!!
As I grow older, and more confident, I realize if I could talk about the amazing moments I have experienced. A great idea, but not something that comes easy for me, that I had forgotten so many of them already… I mean, ties of family and friendship.
But may be there were some really brilliant moments that I want to reflect on.
Now as I look back on it, I have a deep understanding of what’s important to me and being very thankful for all that I have. I have this peace now that everything is going to work out. That maybe I don’t have to work so hard at making things the way I want them to be. I just know that they will be, exactly how they’re supposed to be. And I know that it will all be beautiful.
Time, distance, language and barriers do not matter to me when my heart is involved. I don’t know if that is a good thing or bad thing.
But friends will be so precious to my future someday as precious as it is to me now.
I hope I’m as good a friend to you.
I’m so grateful you’re in my life.
